BISMARCK, N.D. - Educators are gathering in Bismarck to learn about how to help students dealing with mental health issues.
It's all part of the Fall Educators Conference put on by the Department of Public Instruction. Several of the breakout sessions focused on how changes in family structure and culture, as well as social media are impacting students in the classroom.
"Everybody is struggling with this issue and that it’s really based in relationships and adults need to have a trusted relationship with all students and students need to know who they can turn to when they're in trouble or when they're in conflict,” said Valerie Fischer, the director of Adult Education and Safe and Healthy Schools.
The conference continues through Friday.
