Drone-powered career choices

TIOGA, N.D. - Wind farm owners are sparking drone-powered career choices in Tioga students.

Enel Green Power, owner of the Lindahl Wind Farm in Williams County, donated $16,000 to Tioga Public Schools for their STEM program. The school used some of the money to purchase drones for students.

Enel employees say they are investing in local schools to show them what types of high-skilled jobs they could pursue within their area as they grow up.

"Hopefully, you know, it will inspire these students to look into the wind industry as a career, where they are using drones more often to evaluate visual inspections of turbines and electrical equipment," said John Cribbs, Lindahl Wind Farm assistant site supervisor.

Enel currently operates a 150 MW wind farm, and will construct another 299 MW wind farm in Williams and Mountrail counties.
