Planting without gloves can be a dirty job and can sometimes not get the job done, so in this week's don't buy it until we try it, I try out a glove that allows you to rake, dig and plant without tools.

When planting a garden, some people would say they want to use the least amount tools as possible, and some prefer just using their hands. that's where the Garden Genie Gloves come in. It claims to help make gardening as easy as possible, but I had to see if those claims were true, so I headed over to Lowe's garden center to test them out.

The gloves come with claws.

"The pieces of plastic are long enough so you don't feel like they're going to fall off," said Phil Lowe, General Manager of Lowe’s Garden Center.

These 'Freddy Krueger' Claws may look dangerous but actually they can make gardening fun and easy, not to mention it keeps your hands clean.

"It certainly would keep the dirt out of your fingernails which is a positive thing," said Lowe.

However, we found that it works better on softer ground rather than harder ground.

"In the beginning, you've tilled your garden or flower bed, and you've spayed it up and you plant it'd probably work great later in the season not so good. Weeding, not so good, you can’t even get a hold of the little weeds and pull them," said Lowe.

Giving this garden tool a mixed review.

"I'd give it a thumbs up and a thumbs down depending on your situation, I know that's not fair but in the right spot I think it'd be very helpful and it certainly keep the dirt off your hands and out of your fingernails but if you're working in hard ground it's not going to work very well...so thumbs sideways," said Lowe.

The garden Genie gloves sell for about 10 dollars and if you have any ideas for my next
