Don't Buy It, Until We Try It: Clever Cutter

MINOT, N.D. - Chopping your favorite foods can be tiresome for your hands.

This week's "Don't Buy It, Until We Try It" features a product that combines two of the most common kitchen tools and puts it in the palm of your hand.

Chopping veggies with a knife can be tough on your hands and take too much time, but Ronan Tools claims its Clever Cutter can chop your prep time in half with perfect even slices.

Magic City Hoagies helped test it out on a variety of foods including cheese, chicken and veggies.

"It was very smooth in the cut, I can definitely say that. It is very sharp, I like that because if you're going to cut, you have to have a sharp, you know blade," said Christine Staley, owner of Magic City Hoagies.

But, the cutting board needed to be longer.

"When I started cutting the tomatoes, I got to a certain point where I was scared to hold the tomato and it was going to fall, and unless I was going to dice it, it wasn't going to be the consistent type of cut, it was going to be a different type of cut," said Staley.

Giving this product a mixed review.

"I'm going to go like this, you know why? The down is mostly the safety feature that’s really the real issue here, and the lack of the cutting board surface area, but the reason I like it is because the quickness if you're trying to do something fast and the sharpness of the blade," said Staley.

The Clever Cutter sells for about $10.
