WILLISTON, N.D. - Dogs from across the country are making a big splash in Williston this weekend.
Twenty-five dogs from seven different states are competing to qualify for the Ultimate Air Dogs National Championship in Saint Louis, Missouri. Owners practice year-round with their dogs, hoping the training helps their furry friend jump the farthest. Ultimate Air Dogs competitions have been going on since 1999, and Williston has become a regular stop on their 40 weekends-a-year journey.
"The Chokecherry Festival has been an event that we've been at for now the past 9 years, and it's just been a great event to make a qualifier. It's a nice town," said Brian Butler, Ultimate Air Dogs event coordinator.
The dogs will be jumping at Harmon Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
