District 8 starts searching for new superintendent

WILLISTON, N.D. - The Williams County District #8 school-board is looking for a replacement superintendent to start as soon as possible.

During a special meeting Monday, the board decided to hire a company for twenty-thousand dollars called Ray and Associates.

The business will search for and recruit someone to take Rob Turner's position after he ended his contract early. Board-members said it's not likely they'll find a permanent superintendent until July 1. So, Board President Penny Soiseth is calling five retired superintendents from around North Dakota to see if they'd be interested in filling-in until then.

During the meeting, a vote to discuss having a joint superintendent-position with Williston Public School District #1 was turned down because they thought the demand both districts have right now would stretch any one person too thin.
