Department of Health offers immunization map

The North Dakota Department of Health has an immunization map where the public can view vaccination rates, even for specific vaccines, in their county.

As of Dec. 31, 2018, for Infant and Childhood MMR vaccination rates, Divide County has a 100 percent vaccination rate for MMR, Williams County is sitting at 74.66 percent, and McKenzie County, 69.50 percent.

The Upper Missouri District Health Unit tells us that in order to maintain herd immunity, a community has to have an immunization rate of 95 percent or higher.

The health unit says the real danger is for people who are immunocompromised and are unable to vaccinate for health reasons.
