Dan's Garden: Curing apple trees of fire blight

Dan Cashman spends another week with Randy Baumgartner showing how he can cure his apple trees of fire blight.

Last week we talked about Randy's garden, now we have trees.

He has apple trees and pear trees; I see you have a touch of fire blight here. Randy, this is not the worst thing.

This year, it’s a bacteria disease. There’s a spray that’s new that’s a fungicide you can spray on these leaves and repeat it several times over a three week period.

We see it sometimes when there's heat or a lot of growth, a hail storm or branches that are crossing or rubbing. But, there’s a catalyst or a little sticker that you add to it and it helps adhere.
