Social media challenges are popular but often pose threats to those who choose to participate.

The latest is the Skull Breaker Challenge on the TikTok app.

"Get involved" is the message the Mandan Police department is spreading. Check on your child's social media, and make sure you know what they're up to.

The challenge involves three people standing in a row, one person in the middle jumps and the two on the sides kick the persons legs while they're still in the air, causing them to fall on their back which could lead to very serious injuries.

Mandan Public Schools school resource officer Michael Breid said: “If they won't let you go through their social media, know that there may be a reason for it and that’s why, you, your parents, you're the first line of defense to help them out. Make sure they make good decisions, and their decision making in general is good.”

Breid also says parents should watch out for child predators on the apps as well.

According to Reuters, TikTok is no longer available in the google and Apple App Stores in India.

A court in southern Tamil Nadu state asked the federal government on April 3 2019 to ban TikTok, saying it encouraged pornography and warning that sexual predators could target child users.
