Aspiring film makers and students from across the state meet at Laughing Sun on Friday to kick off the annual Dakota Film Dash.
Each team has to create a film with randomly selected dialogue, a character and prop. The film dash was created as a faster version of the annual spring film festival.
"All the skills that are involved, whether you're an amateur film maker or you want to move forward with a career in this area, these are skill sets that apply that to many different careers," said DMA Executive Director, Mary Vansickle.
Each team has only 10 days to write, film and edit the project. Dakota Stage will host a screening of the films on October 18th.
