DICKINSON, N.D. - Dickinson State University's Strom Center for small businesses shut down earlier this year. The building will be opening its doors again this fall, but with a different mission.
The university will be leasing the Strom Center to Learning Ladder Preschool. DSU faculty members will be given priority in applications for the preschool.
President Thomas Mitzel says they received several applications for the property, but the Learning Ladder proposal stood out the most.
'What we wanted to make sure was that whatever occupied that building was going to be beneficial not just for Dickinson State University, but for the community of Dickinson. We're trying to make certain that we're being as good of a steward to the city as the city is being to us," says DSU President Dr. Thomas Mitzel.
Enrollment for Learning Ladder begins mid-September.
