MANDAN, ND - Police say demonstrators protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline briefly shut down an intersection and a worksite in Mandan Sunday morning.

After some blocked the intersection of Highway 6 and Main Street, about 450-to-500 protesters went to Precision Pipeline Workyard, where Dakota Access stores some equipement.

They formed circles around the yard's two entrances for just more than an hour.

The Morton County Sheriff's Office says employees evacuated before the protesters arrived.

Authorities say they didn't make any arrests.

One protester claimed to be injured, but refused medical attention.

Police say they are investigating reports of shots fired.
