First-responders in Western North Dakota are getting a huge financial boost.
The Dakota Access Pipeline is giving a total of $1 million to the emergency management services in counties its infrastructure passes through.
Seven of those counties are in North Dakota, and will each receive $20,000 during public events this week.
On Wednesday, Emmons, Morton and Mercer counties will receive a check at 2:30 p.m. at the Morton County Courthouse.
On Thursday, Dunn, McKenzie, Mountrail, and Williams County will receive one at 11:30 a.m. at the Emergency Management Office in Williston.
