BISMARCK N.D. - A board of County Commissioners approved the Custer Health Preliminary Budget for 2020.
The department serves five counties in North Dakota and representatives of those commissions get together every year to look over what the organization is doing. The budget passed, and will reduce taxes for most of the counties they service, while adding some new programs like nurse and mother partnerships.
"Just really building a relationship, and you have somebody coming to your door to help you with things that you might not have help with otherwise, and it's just very important for those low-income, first-time mothers to have that support system," said administrator Erin Ourada.
Staff are also excited to see a pay raise despite the lower budget.
