County by County, January 9, 2020

MINOT, N.D. - Let's take a look now about what is going on around you in Thursday's County by County.

We begin with a story of love, compassion, and unity in Ramsey County.

Gerald Johnson, who works for the Devils Lake Fire Department, has pancreatic cancer and is losing his hair to chemotherapy.

On top of fighting a disease, he has had a hard year after his father and daughter passed away.

That's when the Fire Department decided to do something.

Wednesday night, 15 men and two women shaved their heads in support of Gerald.

The Fire Department's Facebook page says, "Gerald may have lost his hair, but he's not alone."

We are sending prayers and good thoughts Gerald's way.

Over in McHenry County, a new County Commissioner has taken a seat.

After elected Commissioner, Harry Bergstad, unexpectedly passed away, McHenry County had to fill his position.

Three people applied to fill the vacancy and Keith Cederstrom was chosen from the three.

He will hold the position until elections at the end of the year when he will have to run to keep his seat on the commission.
