Conspiracy to commit murder charge filed in Minot homicide case

4:30 P.M. UPDATE--The courts have set bond for Marcus Lee at $1 million. He will appear for his preliminary hearing and arraignment Feb. 18 in district court in Minot.


12:47 P.M. UPDATE—Minot Police say they took 22-year-old Marcus Lee into custody without incident at his residence Monday night around 7 p.m., in connection with the death of 29-year-old Dominick Stephens.

Police formally arrested Lee for conspiracy to commit murder in Stephens’ death around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police say it is believed Lee was in the vehicle pursuing Stephens Sunday morning.

Lee has an initial court appearance on the AA-felony charge Tuesday at 3 p.m.

He faces the chance of up to life in prison without parole if convicted.

Lee also had an outstanding bench warrant out of Minot Municipal Court.

Police say they believe the incident was a targeted attack and the public is not in danger.

Police are not releasing further information to protect the ongoing investigation.

State prosecutors in Ward County have filed a charge of conspiracy to commit murder against 22-year-old Marcus Jermaine Lee, of Minot.

The charge is a Class AA felony.

There is a motion filed to seal the complaint and affidavit in the case.

According to online records, Lee is in custody in the Ward County Jail.
