WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congress approved the additional $1.5 billion in disaster assistance Thursday to help agriculture producers impacted by severe weather as part of the FY2020 Agriculture Appropriations bill.
Sen. John Hoeven, R, N.D., released a statement saying:
“Our producers are facing real challenges right now, which is why this additional $1.5 billion in disaster assistance funding is vital,” said Hoeven. “Our farmers and ranchers need relief given the unprecedented weather they’ve endured this year. Not only that, but we were also able to secure provisions making sure that our sugar producers are eligible for disaster assistance, as well as to cover quality losses for other crops.”
