Confirmed: Tornado touchdown near Mott

MOTT, N.D. - UPDATE (7-13-19): The National Weather Service in Bismarck confirmed tornado damage in Mott.

A team was out surveying damage Saturday morning.


UPDATE: Hettinger County Emergency Management is asking residents to shelter in place. Stay off streets due to possible downed power lines and debris.

Hettinger County Emergency Management has confirmed a tornado hit northwest of Mott.

Reports of damage in the city include campers being blown over on the east side of Mott, a building on the fair grounds being damaged, large trees blocking roads in the city and power outages.

One eyewitness in the city for the Hettinger County Fair says they moved to another building to take shelter, and the building they left has gone.

No injuries have been reported.
