MINOT, N.D.- More details have emerged on the homicide that took place early on the morning on Jan. 12.
Minot Police held a press conference with Investigations Captain Justin Sundheim this afternoon and identified the victim as 29-year-old Dominick Stephens.
“We do believe there was a vehicle that was following Mr. Stevens and that there were shots fired toward that vehicle. We have identified that the shooting actually took place, started to take place north of that original intersection that we disclosed. We do believe that it started to take place North of that original intersection that we disclosed. We do believe that it started probably in the 1700 bock of terrace drive and they continued to travel south to that intersection,” Sundheim said.
Police say they will continue to investigate the incident until the person responsible is in custody.
“And we will continue to work on this case specifically until these leads and these tips either are exhausted or until we get someone into custody,” Sundheim said.
Community members have also begun to respond to the news of Stephens passing. Local motorcycle club The Ice Cold Riders took to social media on Sunday. Club members Evan Hunt and Brad Wobbema shared condolences to his family and asked for a stop to the violence.
“Well, we knew the victim. He was a very good guy. It affected a lot of people, and we definitely feel for the families of all those effected. I think that its incumbent upon us to put a positive message that community unity is what we need to go for to preserve public safety,” said Hunt.
“All the recent events that have happened over the last few years with shootings and death all across the city and this was kind of just our final straw to say enough is enough. Instead of being against one another we need to unite and be a whole.” said Wobbema.
