BISMARCK, N.D. - While farmers across the state have delayed harvesting during wet and cold weather, smaller-scale farms took to their gardens before the rain came in.
Friendship Garden Club, A community farm of more than 30 neighbors, celebrated their 10th anniversary of operation. Over those years, the group has harvested and donated more than 5,000 pounds of produce.
"It feels good; we all feel good about it. All these ladies are a big part of it. We all work together; we have fun together. It's a nice project," said Jane Jesperson, Friendship Garden Club founder.
All the vegetables grown and collected were donated to Heaven's Helpers, Welcome House, The Adult Abused Resource Center, The Salvation Army, Ministry on the Margins, and The Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry.
