With all the snow the Bismarck-Mandan has accumulated, Huff Hills has plenty of powder, unfortunately frigid temperatures are keeping people off the slopes.
Andrew Beck the Mountain Operations manager said they've had back to back closed weekends. Employees say that it's great to have so much natural snow, but because it's been so cold it's affected business. While ups and downs are normal throughout a ski season, the high wind chills affect operating the lifts.
Beck said, “You know this is a great time to come out especially with little kids cause finally weather is getting warmer it's a little bit more fun. Yeah there was a day there for both guests and staff that it was a struggle to get up and get going in the morning.”
With the long term weather forecast trending warmer they hope to back open for business soon.
