An update on an oil leak that happened last month near Belfield.
Nearly 5,000 barrels of crude oil leaked into Ash Coulee Creek from a pipeline owned by True Company.
Cleanup is underway and a spokesperson for the company says they've cleaned up almost that amount, but they're still unsure how much oil remains.
"We have recovered over 3,400 barrels, and at this point we still do not have an accurate number as to how much remains, because we still have some snow cover that is on top," says Wendy Owen, True Company Spokesperson.
The company says the sensors that are supposed to detect leaks may have not have been working properly... causing a delay in detection of the leak.
