Lincoln has announced its next police chief will be Robyn Krile.

Krile has been serving as interim chief of the department since September. Krile was fired from the Bismarck Police Department in 2017 after a senior assistant state's attorney's opinion said she couldn't testify for that office in court.

Krile is suing the City of Bismarck and the Bismarck Police Department. She claims she was fired because of gender discrimination.

"She's doubled the stats. She's doing the administration work and also patrolling. Again, the citizens love her, I've had numerous people call me up saying Robyn Krile would be a fantastic chief, please look into it," said Lincoln Mayor Gerarld Wise.

The announcement will be made official at the city commission meeting on Thursday.
