BISMARCK, N.D. - Century High School students won their regional Science Bowl.
Now they're headed to Washington, D.C. for a shot at a national title.
Science Bowl competitions are run "Jeopardy style," where the teams of students go head-to-head for 16 minutes answering as many science related questions that they can.
”The competition is much like an athletic team, you can kind of run some drills and some practice, but when you get to actual competition you don't know how they're going to compete. And they did very well. They knew when to buzz in and how to communicate,” said Bart Bracken, teacher and coach of the Century High Science Bowl team.
Century High has only been practicing since the beginning of January, but came out on top out of 22 teams in the state.
They hope to continue that success at the national finals this spring.
