Carrie's Kids looking for donations for Santa's Workshop

BISMARCK, N.D. - Christmas is in 46 days, and that means people are shopping for the perfect gift.

Carrie's Kids is holding its 12th annual Santa's Workshop, and Five Star Storage is lending a helping hand for the big event.

The workshop is all about Carrie's Kids, letting them shop for the perfect present to give to a family member; they even can get a gift themselves.

"It's a full day. They share a meal, they pick out their gifts, as well as play Uno. It's a very fun day for the kids to be a part of the community," said Tricia Zinke, Five Star Storage.

The gifts handed out in the workshop are all donated by community members, given in the Christmas spirit to lift the spirits of Carrie's Kids participants.

"I think sometimes during the holiday season everybody's worried about what they're going to get or give. We want it to be about the community, about each other. we elongate the whole thing, it's kind of like we're our own little small winter wonderland," said Carrie Grosz, president and founder of Carrie's Kids.

Santa's Workshop is open throughout the month of December.

Last year, about 250 kids went home with gifts for family members.

If you'd like to donate to Santa's Workshop you can drop off items at Five Star Storage on Hamilton Street in Bismarck.

They're accepting gently used or brand new items like books, cleaning supplies, clothes, and wrapping paper.
