MINOT, N.D. - For yet another year community members are buying Christmas trees, but for a good cause.
Eagles Wings Community Fellowship is joining 38 sites around the country for the second year in the Buy a Tree Change A Life campaign.
The nonprofit uses Christmas tree sales to help children globally, locally and right here in Minot where the funds go toward Project Ignite Light.
Residents also come out to help sell trees. North Dakota Senator Tom Campbell was spotted at the event.
"It's helping kids in our community as well and they really like the tree they're Fraser Fir, they're nice trees and so far everyone's been very happy," said Kelly Tanney, Buy a Tree, Change A Life site director.
Trees prices ranges from $29 to $129 based on size. You can buy your tree Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. They say they expect to sell out this weekend, so stop by sooner, rather than later.
