Burleigh County Recorder's Office no longer taking walk-in passport applications

BISMARCK, N.D. - Passports aren't just for international travel anymore. As security concerns increase and laws change, passports will soon be required for any air travel, domestic or abroad.

Because more people are applying for, or renewing their passports, the Burleigh County Recorder's Office is no longer taking walk-in applications.

"With the changing laws in travel, we've just been inundated at times with passport applications, and we do have other responsibilities in this office to take care of," said Burleigh County Recorder Debbie Kroshus.

The recorders office is taking appointments starting Monday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Bismarck post office, Morton County Recorders office and the Mandan Public Library also take appointments.
