MINOT, N.D. - For the first time since early this year, drivers in Minot have two lanes to use in each direction across the Broadway Bridge.
Crews spent Wednesday afternoon removing orange cones and barriers, opening up the newly-finished northbound segment of the bridge.
Northbound drivers will be able to turn right on to Central Avenue, but southbound drivers will not be able to turn left, since the new segment is higher than the old one.
Major construction has ended on the bridge for 2017, but crews will work on lighting and other minor work next week.
Next year crews will narrow traffic to head-to-head in the northbound segment, as they demolish and rebuild the southbound part.
