UPDATE: Bond referendum for new Dickinson high school fails

DICKINSON, N.D. - UPDATE: The vote on the bond referendum to build a new high school has failed.

According to Stark County Auditor Kay Haag, with all votes counted from each of the voting locations, there were 2,076 yes votes and 2,703 no votes. Haag says those results are unofficial until the canvassing board meets sometime next week.

ORIGINAL STORY: Dickinson residents are voting Tuesday on a $115 million bond referendum for a new high school.

The high school is estimated to cost about $108 million, with the other money being saved for a potential new elementary school down the road. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
