Blue-Green Algae Warning issued for Harmon Lake
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality issued a Blue-Green Algae Warning for Harmon Lake on Friday.
According to the department's website, a warning means "a blue-green algae bloom is present over a significant portion of the lake and excessive microcystin levels have been measured."
On lakes with a warning, they say people and pets avoid contact with the water and say people should not take part in contact recreation activities, such as swimming, water skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
