BISMARCK, N.D. - Snow has already started to fall across southern and eastern North Dakota, associated with a strong system moving across the Midwest.
Snow will continue to fall through the night and into Thursday morning. As far as snow amounts, 5-8" is forecasted near the Bismarck region, with 8-12" possible for south central N.D., portions of southeastern N.D, and parts of northern South Dakota. Lesser amounts will are expected southwest and north.
Along with snowfall, strong winds will impact the area. Gusts to 60 mph are possible across south central North Dakota and to 65 mph southeast overnight. This will cause blowing snow, whiteout conditions, and hazardous travel.
Hazardous travel is expected to continue into Thursday with wind gusts t 40 mph possible.
