Bismarck's Main Street Minute: Grand Junction Subs

BISMARCK, N.D. - A sub chain based out of the Fargo-Moorhead area is expanding to Bismarck. The sandwich shop celebrated its grand opening last week.

Grand Junction Subs opened in 1999 and has gained a cult following since launching.

Owner Colton Shoults wanted to bring the restaurant to Bismarck, and after several months of planning opened the capitol city location on August 22.

With hot fresh menu items like the chicken cordon bleu and cajun chicken ranch, fans bet Grand Junction Subs will be a hit.

"I got the Junction Club and it's pretty much just ham and turkey. It's really good though. It's nice to have something different in town that's not just a typical sandwich shop. They do things a little different," said Travis Barth, customer.

Lunch hour lines have been out the door since the grand opening and the owner says it's the made-to-order sandwiches sizzling on the grill, that's bringing people back.

"We stood in line from when we came in the door and the time we got our sandwich was three minutes. So it's quick and easy and its a hot sandwich too, that makes a difference. Hot food versus a cold sandwich or something like that," said Phil Robins, customer.

"Our sandwiches are cooked hot, made ready to order, fresh off the grill. Everything is fresh about our sandwiches from the meat sliced in the back and hand pressed fries that are also cut daily, said Colton Shoults, owner of Grand Junction Subs in Bismarck.

Shoults says he hope to add another Grand Junction Subs in south Bismarck.
