UPDATE: According to online records, Miller is required to pay $36,324.55 in restitution.

ORIGINAL STORY: The former Bis-Man Transit employee accused of embezzling from Jefferson Lines pleaded guilty to taking the money Monday.

Shanda Miller waived her preliminary hearing on the charge of stealing more than $35,000 from Jefferson Lines. She was working at Bis-Man Transit at the time, and was in charge of keeping the money from the transactions.

Court documents say she took the money between June 2018 and January of this year.

“This has been a very emotional process, a very trying and learning process and I've definitely learned the error of my ways,” said Miller.

Miller was sentenced to two years of jail time, with all of that suspended, and three years of probation.
