Bismarck woman pleaded guilty to feces filled home

BISMARCK, N.D. - Monday, a judge sentenced a Bismarck woman for child neglect and animal neglect to a deferred sentence and two of supervised probation.

Court records show 33-year-old Shanda Miller pleaded guilty to both counts.

Miller is accused of not cleaning her home for more than a month and not letting the dogs go out to use the bathroom. The landlord did a walk through and found dog feces, mold, and trash spread all over the home.
Police found seven dogs and two children in the home.

The affidavit says the officer noticed one of the children walking out of the home without shoes. His feet had dog feces on them.

A deferred sentence means if she serves probation without getting in trouble, the judge can decide to take the case off of her record.
