Bismarck woman accused of pouring hot water on a child

BISMARCK, N.D. - A Bismarck woman is charged in connection to a minor taken to the hospital with first degree burns.

Bismarck Police say 45-year-old Wendi Ward is accused of throwing hot water on a 14-year-old girl after an argument.

The affidavit says Ward admits she got a pot with hot and cold water mixed and threw it at the child. She says she didn’t think the water was that hot.

Ward is charged with Class C felony child abuse. If convicted she could face a maximum of 5 years in prison.
