Bismarck victim out $19,000 in scam

The Bismarck Police Department is looking into a scam that left a family out $19,000.

Public information officer, Luke Gardiner says the victim reported someone had transferred her phone line to a different number at AT&T without her knowledge.

Police say someone took the victims social security number and credit card information and made multiple transactions totaling $19,000 at Sam’s club. Police say they don’t know the location of the Sam’s club.

Officers say there are no suspects at this time and they don’t know if the person is in the state or not.
