Bismarck police officer injured in crash

BISMARCK, N.D. - A Bismarck police officer is being hospitalized after being struck by an SUV Saturday morning.

The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department says it happened at 9:30 a.m. when an eastbound SUV ran a stop sign at the intersection of East Bowen Avenue and South 9th Street.

The SUV ran into a marked patrol vehicle and the SUV overturned onto it's side.

The adult male driver of the SUV, and two children who were passengers, as well as the police officer were all taken to the hospital.

The three in the SUV were cleared but the officer was kept with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges are pending against the SUV driver.
