A 41-year-old Bismarck man was taken to the hospital overnight after being run over by a car.

The Bismarck Police Department says witnesses told them that they were trying to get the suspect out of a residence near East Avenue D.

Police say the suspect was backing his car out when he hit the car behind him. He then tried to pull forward and back out again and that’s when he hit the man.

Officers say the man was hit by the left front tire and pulled underneath the tire of the car.

The suspect continued to back up and left east bound on avenue D, then parked his car a few blocks down and fled northbound on foot.

Police say the victim has non-life threatening injuries to his leg and lower body.

BPD says they know who the suspect is and they have sent it to State’s Attorney’s office for review and to issue an arrest warrant.
