Bismarck man charged with bank robbery, federal trial set

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bismarck man arrested last month for attempting to rob a Bismarck bank is now charged in federal court.

Fifty-four-year-old Rondal Heitsch is accused of walking into Starion Bank on April 27 in Bismarck and asking for money, he also told staff he had a bomb in his backpack.

Heitsch was originally charged in district court and was waiting to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. This case has now been closed.

Heitsch is charged with bank robbery and his federal trial is set for August 5.
