Bismarck man accused of threatening officer pleaded not guilty in court

A Bismarck man accused of threatening to hurt an officer after a traffic stop, pleaded not guilty in court Monday.

Bismarck police say 30-year-old John Morsette is accused of following an officer after a traffic stop and harassing him.

Detectives say Morsette called dispatch to ask where the officer lived and threatened to hurt him.

Officers believed Morsette was capable of harming and killing officers based off his demeanor, according to the affidavit.

He’s charged with terrorizing, harassment, and fleeing a peace officer.

Morsette’s trial is scheduled for October 29.
