Early morning fire affects three apartments, estimated $85,000 in damage

The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the corner of East Avenue E and 2nd Street Saturday morning.

Battalion Chief Joey Vander Vliet says Bismarck Fire responded at 7:00 a.m. to flames and smoke coming out of the windows and front door of the two story structure.

Vander Vliet says the structure contains three apartments.

He says the fire was originated in the front entryway. The cause is under investigation.

No one was in the apartments at the time of the fire.

The damage is estimated to be in excess of $85,000.
