Bismarck girl shares her happiness with others

BISMARCK, N.D. - People in North Dakota are often known as happy and friendly and an 11-year-old Bismarck girl wants to prove just that.

To celebrate International Happiness Day, Alexis Thompson hosted her fourth "Happy Cafe" at Boneshakers Coffee. Guests were invited to join in on conversation and bring in toy, food, and toiletry donations.

Thompson says spreading happiness is important because everyone deserves to be happy.

"My best friend Lexi was bullied and it made me really sad because I realized she wasn't being the happy person that I knew that she was. And so I created Choose Happiness so that no one would ever have to go through that again," said Thompson.

All of the donations go to Shriners Hospital for Children in Minneapolis.
