Bismarck family looking for answers after cat is found shot
A local family was in shock Friday when they discovered one of their family pets had been shot.
It happened on a quiet street in the middle of the city.
"Never in a million years did I think that he would get shot in town. That was not even in the realm of possibility," said Rachael TreeTop, Nimbus' owner.
Jon and Rachael TreeTop's pet cat, Nimbus, came home limping Friday night. it had been shot with a pellet gun.
"It's a terrible thing to do to someone's pet. I understand he may have been in someone's lawn, but it's not like he's an unapproachable cat," said Jon TreeTop, Rachael's Husband.
The pellet passed close to the cat's heart. As far as the family knows all of their neighbors are accepting of the cat.
"The neighbors all know him. They pet him, they know him by name, they know that he's fixed, registered, up to date on all his shots. They always see him and go 'Hi Nimbus' and pet him," said Rachael.
The family still has no idea who may have shot the cat.
Nimbus should be able to walk again sometime in the next two to three weeks.
