BISMARCK, N.D. - Sanford Health in Bismarck is doubling the size of its birth center and neonatal intensive care unit.
Administrators say construction will begin later this month. The NICU is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The Birth Center will have 24 beds, including 18 private rooms and a six-bed bay all to be completed by the spring of 2021.
The hospital will also offer new amenities like whirlpool tubs and a lighting system to help babies who are born dependent on drugs or alcohol.
