BISMARCK, N.D. - KFYR's own Hope Sisk was a judge out at the Bismarck Elks Lodge for an event raising money for the Bismarck Cancer Center.
The event, Margarita Madness, was sold at with more than 200 people attending. Organizers say they had no set goal, but hope to raise as much as they can to help those struggling with cancer.
"Who doesn't need a little bit of summertime in January," said Darika Polk, organizer.
"Exactly, when it's this, well it hasn't been too horribly cold. A little margarita in January sure doesn't hurt. Gets us ready for the summer," said Tina Wetzel, organizer.
Ten local bars were participating in the competition to see who has the best margaritas.
