Richard Davis out as head coach for Bismarck Bucks

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bucks play in Bismarck on Saturday and they will do so without Richard Davis as their head coach. Davis and his wife Judy helped get the franchise started last year and we do not know the reason for their dismissal.

BEK Communications is a major part of the ownership group with Derrick Bulawa is its CEO.

"We needed a different skill set as we're leaving the start-up mode of a franchise to a more mature operating organization." said Bulawa. "We appreciate what Richard Davis did in starting the franchise. We were franchise of the year and we were recognized as having the best media platform in the league, and that goes to Richard. We wish him the best in the future."

Bismarck is hosting Salina, Kansas on Saturday and Bulawa said Paco Martinez will be the head coach.

"Paco Martinez has championship lineage in his young coaching career," said Bulawa.

Martinez was the Bucks offensive coordinator.
