BISMARCK, N.D. - Some of the Bismarck Bobcat hockey players spent their Monday afternoon at CHI St. Alexius Children's Hospital spreading a little joy.
The players brought teddy bears for the nurses and doctors to distribute to the patients.
They collected the bears in December at their annual Teddy Bear Toss Game. After Bobcat forward Austin Schwartz scored the first goal of the game, fans threw their teddy's to the ice for the players to donate later.
"I hope they get joy because obviously it's not fun to have to be in here because the situation they're in but the little things I feel like are going to make them happy, so hopefully that does it for them," said Bismarck Bobcats hockey player Jacob Marti.
Although the children weren't able to visit with the players, the sentiment was all the same. Players say their goal was to help bring a smile to the children's faces.
The team collected and gave out over 300 bears to local children's hospitals and Toys for Tots.
