BISMARCK, N.D. - The Bismarck City Commission voted to continue the Green Route service to the University of Mary.
It's being called a new pilot program.
The route will continue service until June 30, 2019. The route must reach an average monthly ridership of 500 to continue another year. This year it only achieved an average of about 250 riders.
"There's a great deal of potential for ridership. We've just got to find the right combination of promotion to the students to get them used to riding the bus, and once they see how easy it is they'll ride more," said Roy Rickert, Bis-Man Transit executive director.
Bis-Man Transit will also work with U-Mary marketing students to advertise the bus route on campus.
