Bactrian camel dies from injuries at Roosevelt Park Zoo

MINOT, N.D. - Some sad news coming out of the Roosevelt Park Zoo.

Priya, one of the zoo's two Bactrian camels was found dead on the morning of July 5 due to injuries that happened overnight.

Priya came to the zoo from Fargo with a second camel from Idaho named Sisco in March of last year.

The zoo says that these animals are social so they plan on adding another camel to the right away to keep Sisco company.

Sisco and Priya were the first two residents of the camel-bison barn on the north trail.

Two Bactrian camels at the zoo died from advanced age in 2017.
