Barry Holmen resigns as Minot Magicians Head Football Coach

MINOT, N.D. - Minot Activities Director Mitch Lunde announced in a press release Friday afternoon that Minot High Head Football Coach Barry Holmen has announced his resignation, effective immediately.

Coach Holmen led the Magi for 15 seasons and was on the coaching staff for 35 years. His career record is 112-50, with four state runner-up finishes.

Lunde added in the release that: "The activities department would like to thank Coach Holmen for his dedication to the Minot High Football Program and wish him nothing but the best in his future. Coach Holmen has provided all student/athletes at Minot High with pride, leadership and passion."

When reached for comment Holmen said: "I am blessed beyond measure to have served in this role in my hometown. I love Minot, I appreciate Minot, I'm blessed."​

The search for Holmen's replacement will begin immediately.
